ZWave+ vs ZWave light switches

If I start replacing my zwave light switches with ZWave+ light switches can I expect to see faster response times? I know there is a difference in the transmit speed of each node, but will this be a noticeable change?

I am looking for ways to speed up my home automation. I posted on here not long ago about a multisensor 6 giving me some trouble with delays and I have gotten it back to where it was originally which is ok, but I am looking for better. To give you an idea of what I mean, I have my sensor right above the door into the bathroom. It takes the time for me to walk through the doorway and to the toilet approx. 10 feet away for the light to come on. My pace is about average for an adult I suppose.

I was considering all ideas for improving this, and wondered if z-wave+ will help me get to a faster response.

If this isn't the answer, does anyone know how to make this work better? Repositioning the sensor didn't seem to be the answer as it picked up quite a few false-triggers when walking by the bathroom.

Multiple Devices Created

I have 2 garage doors, somehow in the past couple of days, I'm getting duplication. I disabled myQ, deleted all the devices and then enabled it back. Multiple devices continued to get created:

Updated yesterday and backup failed

I was going through my plugins yesterday and updated BLbackup to the latest version. Last night I got an email that the backup failed.

Checked the logs and got the following:

** Backup process (One Zip File - FULL) has STARTED at 8/27/2017 8:05:13 AM...

ERROR: was not accessible!!

** Backup process (One Zip File - FULL) has FAILED at 8/27/2017 8:05:13 AM

Not much to go on. The backup directory is there, it has disk space.

Also, I noticed that the backup has run consistently every day until 8/22 and then didn't run again until last night. At least according to the logs. I wouldn't have noticed this unless the backup failed.

This doesn't make a lot of sense - that backups had stopped running about a week ago, and then arbitrarily I decide to update and they start running and fail?

Perhaps it does make sense and someone can help me solve this? Thanks.

Just updated 10 hsm 209's and it took for ever to to do. Maybe these could help future users:

-Scan a inputed node ID number instead of the entire network on Enable interface, this would allow a quick scan on a disconnected network.
-Cancel the button scan and just show the already found nodes, instead of the entire network.

Arduino API doesn't reset input values? or retains old values

Hi,

I have some questions on how the Arduino API 'holds' or sends Input values to Homeseer.
It seems that the Input 'retains' an old value and when Arduino sends the new value they get "added" or something...see below.

Scenario:

I am reading the pH value and when I use the 'standard' sketch the sensor reads the correct value. I know its the correct value since I have standard pH Buffer solutions that I use to test (4,7 and 10 pH).
pH =4 (buffer solution) reads 4.1

However when I use the HS3Arduino API sketch I get very different results.
pH = 4 (buffer solution) reads 17.83 when read from the Homeseer Device.

Same sensor, same buffer solution (didn't change anything, just the sketch)

I even tried sending the pH sensor value in mV to see if it read the same but somehow even this gets changed when reading it in the Homeseer Device.

Standard sketch
mV = 2560

HS3Arduino APi
mV = 2319

I am attaching the standard sketch and the HS3Arduino sketch I am using and the HS3 devices showing the results.

NOTE HS3 Device Values
Board 1, Output 0 (I just use to send data to Homeseer)
Board 1, Input 1 (pH)
Board 1, Input 4 (mV)


Any feedback is appreciated.

I do not understand why it gives me this error
how to fix it is a schlage lock BE469NX CEN 619

Need a power sensor only

I would love to see HomeSeer, or another vendor, make a power sensor without any switching ability and sized so two will fit in a standard outlet.

I have many devices I'd like to monitor power usage but they never should beable to be turned off using Z-Wave.

Hometroller s6 Pro?

Just saw sale on hometroller s6 pro and was wondering if these will be discontinued soon and replaced with a newer version. Is this a recommended hardware/software solution for someone that doesn't have alot of time to spend setting up seperate hardware and software solution? Will the hometroller s6 pro last me for a LONG time?Thanks !!!! Rick

So getting back into HS again - standing it up running HS3Pro. I purchased the UltraM1G plugin back under HS2 and was wondering if there is a upgrade path - or if I have to rebuy the plugin for HS3.

Multiswitches not working in v0.21

Hey Spud....

Something weird. I upgraded to 0.21 to try the RGB control, and now see some random issues with my multiswitches.

I have one setup with my denon receiver via the Harmony plugin. all works fine with the harmony plugin via events, etc.

when my old Denon wasn't working any longer via the harmony+IH setup... I deleted and tried to recreate.

Created new multiswitch for the Denon ... populates all fields find in the IH config. Rebuild the database..... and then create a widget in IH. It comes up fine, with all the right options. However, when I select one (like power on), nothing happens, and there is nothing in the log.(even when set to debug).

some of my other multiswitches are still working, so not sure what is going on????

Losing included devices every now and then. But why?

Hi
I'm losing the relation between HS3 and the Z-wave device too often to be fun. Then I have to reset the device and and add it again. Then I have a phantom device, have to reassign the device to all events and such. Not fun.

Am I doing something wrong? I cant see that there should be anything wrong with my network as it works flawless between those intermittent hickups.

I'm using the Aeon Stick 2 with Aeon, Everspring, Fibaro and a few more brands.
Restoring HS from a full backup doesnt seem to help. When examining the sticks content all devices are there.

after homeseer crash

So once a while homeseer 3 pro crashes, this is not a big problem, just start hs3 again and it wil run.. but...

sometimes after starting it again i get an error: port already in use
when this happens all settings are gone.

i have to add serverport = 83 to settings.ini again and all plugin are shutdown and com port settings are also gone (all set to comport 1)

what is the reason this happens, it is very annoying.

Z-Flash & HS-WD100+, HS-WS100+

I have purchased quite a few of the "HS-WD100+" and "HS-WS100+" dimmers and switches and they are installed throughout the house.

I don't use or own a license to the HomeSeer (HS3) software and each time in the past I would have to get a trial license key to use HomeSeer (HS3) perform firmware updates on my dimmers/switches.

Can I use Z-Flash along with my Aeotec Z-Stick (Gen5) to update firmware in my "HS-WD100+" and "HS-WS100+" dimmers and switches now?

Monitor Arduino on outside network?

I know I mentioned this before, but is there any way, or convoluted way, to be able to monitor inputs and outputs on an Arduino on a separate network? Similar to what can be done with a Z-net on another network still reporting to HS. I have a DSC alarm panel I want to remove and tie the sensors to an Arduino to monitor and report to HS if possible. Any ideas?

I am ready to order the hometroller s6 pro and was wondering if I can order the ocelot/leopard plugin at the same time. It is a third party plugin so don't think it comes preinstalled on s6 pro?

Does anyone have a working way2call unit they don't need anymore and would like to sell for premium price or is there a known source for these units?

Will the way2call lite work with homeseer. All I want to do with way2call unit is take phone off hook, send touchtone codes and then put on hook again.

Can I pay for homeseer items using my paypal account?

ML connected, HS not?

I just installed the HS plugin update (2.0.30.0) and am running the app version in ML (4.0.7) - note, I also updated to the latest version of ML in the process. I started noticing none of my HS events are working after the update. Restarted the machine.

The ML app says I am connected to HS but the HS plugin status page indicates disconnected.

For those of you using protect actions in Imperihome on your devices (I use them on my locks), note that the newest ImperiHome beta breaks them. You have to remove the protect action and re-add it, then it should work again. I think this is due to the addition of the fingerprint protect action they added.

Mystery Z-Wave Nodes Sending Wake-Up Notifications

In trying to diagnose some issues with my FortrezZ Water Sensors not sending battery status, I've come across a bit of a mystery.

My logs show these entries:

However, as you can see from a snippet of my devices below, I have no devices that show up as Node 36 or Node 41:



When I go to my Z-Net controller, those two node numbers ARE listed under the Controller Node Information, but I can't seem to figure out what devices they are associated with (I should note that I do not have Hide Devices selected when I list all my devices).

I know I must be missing something simple.

Any suggestions?
