Motion trigger not working

BI Release: 4.5.9.8
HS3: Standard Edition 3.0.0.318
BI Plugin: 3.1.1.23144
Windows10 Pro

Attempting to turn on some lights using motion detection from specific camera. Doesn't work and nothing in the log.

Test button from Alerts page in BI produces this in HS3 log:
Aug-21 14:22:32 Blue-Iris It's working! TEST alert received for Patio

Trying this URL from browser:
http://192.168.0.81:8079/JSON?reques...atio&P2=MOTION
results in a response of:
{ "Response":"OK - got the TRIGGER MOTION alert for BI-CAM-Patio" }
but no message in HS log; "debug" is turned on in the plugin) and the event doesn't fire.

If I replace "BI-CAM-Patio" with just "Patio" in the URL, then I get this error message in the HS log:
Aug-21 14:36:38 Blue-Iris Error Error in PluginProc: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

I'm sure I'm missing something really stupid. Can you point me in the right direction?

Snap image from RTSP security camera stream using FFMPEG?

I currently have a Reolink NVR with 5 cameras. Essentially I want to grab an image from the RTSP stream, I'm assuming I would use FFMPEG to accomplish this. I can not use the native snapshot feature since the cameras are directly connected to the NVR.

I figured out how to get a snapshot from the RTSP stream using FFMPEG using this command:

How can I get this into HomeSeer as a device?

New HS3 install, plugin loads but just doesn't control anything

I was running HS3 on Linux but just got a Windows 10 desktop. I installed HS3 on it no problem as well as the Caseta plugin. I added the SmartBridge, and did auto add of all devices which also worked. However when I try to control any, nothing happens. I've rebooted HS3, the SmartBridge, disabled/enabled the plugin. Only once did it turn a light on but then stopped immediately after. I turned debug mode on and this is all you see in the log when you try to control a light. Any ideas?

Does Hometroller Zee support Gen5

Can anyone advise whether Hometroller Zee S2 supports this device?
There's a caution at the bottom of the product page that says:

** Very important note: Your Zwave controller must support series 500 Gen 5 Zwave and we strongly recommend you check with the controller vendor/manufacturer to confirm compatibility to get the most from this product including light levels, etc.

I feel for the families of the missing soldiers. Horrible tragedy which certainly could have been prevented. I hope for the best possible outcome for the missing crew member.

Two Destroyers being hit by commercial vessels in last than three months? What the heck is going on?

So, the latest Destroyer got hit on the port side. Normally it would have had the right of way, but certainly a crude ship three times the Destroyers size can not maneuver out of its way easily.

I dunno, it is a military ship and certainly should be aware of traffic around it!

Delay with events

Hi,

I'm having problem with delayed events.

I have couple of motion sensor triggered events where light goes on when motion is detected. In the debug log I can see that event triggers like it should when motion detector reports motion but it sometimes takes ~10 seconds before the light goes on. Sometimes it goes on instantly.

In the log file there are these lines:

What could be causing this kind of delay, could it be Z-wave adapter related, and is there possibility to check from some other log if the adapter is making retry transmissions or something that could cause the delay.

I'm using UZB USB adapter.

Z-Wave action "Activate a scene" does not trigger "Z-Wave scene activated"

As I migrate toward Z-wave switches that use Central Scenes, like that of the Homeseer line of switches, I am becoming increasingly reliant upon Events to activate Z-wave scenes. The challenge I've run into is that it the Z-Wave action "Activate a scene" will not trigger "Z-Wave scene activated" events.

While HS3's event system is flexible enough that I can work around this, my expectation is that the "Activate a scene" action would trigger "Z-wave scene activated events".

I've tested this on Z-wave plugin versions 3.0.1.130, 3.0.1.137, and 3.0.1.140.
  1. Create a Z-Wave scene "My Test Scene" with one or more devices
  2. Create an event, "Event 1" with the Z-Wave Action "Activate a scene", and select "My Test Scene"
  3. Create an event, "Event 2" that is triggered by "Z-Wave Scene Activated", and select "My Test Scene", and have it take some action (in my case, set a virtual switch to On).
  4. "Event 2" will not trigger as a result of an event's Z-Wave action to "Activate a scene", as might be done with "Event 1".
  5. "Event 2" will trigger if a Z-wave device directly activates "My Test Scene".. In my case, I was able to do this with a Cooper 5-button scene controller.

Home automation help needed.

Hello,

Started a project of building some kind of home automation, the part I’m starting with is to control my pellets burner with the pyboard.
The pyboard will take care of the burning process and keeping the burner running with new pellets. Then I want to send all the values to my Raspberry pi over serial that will send to my phone using socket and on the phone i will have kiwi for managing the set values and the actual values for the burner.
How would you send many different values over serial? I went through many resources and checked Home Automation Video for help but did not find much help.
My first thought is combining all values in a string with a separator char to tell what values to go into the right variable.

Any help will be appreciated.

Simple Event Question

Hi All,
I'm relatively new to HS, so I have what I hope to be an easy question about events. I have 3 virtual switches that track windows open or closed on each level of my 3 level house. I simply want to create a notification to my phone via pushover that all of the windows have closed.

But it seems that it's as easy as it should be. I would like to do this without creating another virtual device.

Here is the logic that I currently have but it seems that it will only work if I close the basement windows last.

Is there a method to globally enable/disable the IFTTT service from within HS3? It would be useful for HS3 to selectively prevent an IFTTT action to occur (e.g., prevent the unlocking of a door after midnight).

HS3 ZEE S2 firmware not updating, stuck at 3.0.0.291

Cannot update firmware automatically from Web control panel interface.

Then I followed directions provided at https://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=190261
I applied the Linux command and screen shows some unpacking of files and last line mentions that install with follow.

Yet, after restart it still shows old firmware.

My setup screen shows:

Current version is: HS3 ZEE S2 Edition 3.0.0.291 Update 3.0.0.318 available.
Beta Version Available: None More Info No Beta updates available.

Questions:

-- How do I update my HS3?

-- HS3 shows version 318 available but thread on Google Home (https://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=190261) shows at least version 340 needed... how do I update to latest version?

-- I linked my HS3 account to my Google Home device. Will I need to undo/redo that after I get my HS3 updated to version 340?

-- Can I tell Google to run a scene or can only turn on/off/dim individual devices?

I searched through the threads regarding SkyBell but mostly just found general discussions which door bell is better. Hence I assume there is still no integration with HomeSeer (or an API that I could use) so I can access the video stream, trigger events when they bell is activated, etc. If there is then please let me know.

Aeon Labs DCS11 MultiSwitch Power reporting incorrectly

All switches are all working but non of the power reporting is properly linked to the correlating switch. For example Switch one reports watts and kwh on channel 3 instead of channel 1.

How can this be corrected?

update problem to version 2.17.0.14

I have a problem updating from version MCSSPINKLERSP 2.17.0.10 tot version 2.17.0.14. I see that the package is downloading and after the message unzipping i got the error "Install/Update of package mcsSprinklersP failed".
There is enough diskspace and the version i'm running is HomeSeer Version: HS3 Standard Edition 3.0.0.297.
Any one else have this problem? And maybe a solution. I already restarted HS but without a result

How to get a snapshot from a Y-cam cube HD1080 camera

Hi,

I try to add a Y-cam cube HD1080 camera to my system.
When accessing the snapshot - url directly in my browser I get the snapshot instantly shown.
But, when having the url added in the NetCam config, it just does not grab a picture? So what's wrong here or Am I missing some part?

This is the url I added in the NetCam config (user and pwd are hidden)
